LUNA14 really pushed some boundaries with “Zero Gravity.” The sound production is impressive, especially since they used an old 24-track tape machine to get that warm, analog vibe. I love the variety of instruments used by Gasher; the mix of violins, synths, and guitars creates a huge, detailed wall of sound. The composition is a wild ride, featuring a sudden tempo change that completely flips the track on its head halfway through.
Lunafacious brings a great energy to the vocals, and the stacked layering makes the voice sound rich and full. The lyrics are the best part, though. They take the idea of weightlessness and use it to talk about polyamory and open love in a way that is totally fresh. It is a bold, experimental piece of pop music that avoids all the boring clichés.
This duo has a fantastic DIY spirit that makes the whole song shine.
